Vietnam to welcome 20,000 spectators for China clash

The

between Vietnam and China will draw 20,000 spectators to Hanoi's My Dinh National Stadium. Specifically, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will for the match on February 1.

The VFF has presented a request to the

to host the spectator match. Covid-19 events in Hanoi, on the other hand, will be critical in determining whether the match will be conducted with or without spectators.

If the VFF's application is accepted, it will be the third home game in a row that will be open to the public. The previous two matches, against Japan and Saudi Arabia, both drew roughly 20,000 supporters into the stadium. Vietnam will play

against Australia on January 27th, before the China match.

The national team will resume training on January 13. The 30 players called up by coach Park Hang-seo include a number of fresh faces. Vietnam is at the bottom of Group B after losing all six of its matches in the final round of World Cup qualifiers for the first time.
