Half of Vietnamese to make more than $20 a day by 2030

According to British lender HSBC, 48 million Vietnamese, or nearly half the population, will have an income of more than US$20 per day by 2030.

The country is

to rise from 13th to 10th position among countries with the biggest number of citizens earning more than $20 per day (based on 2011 ). China is expected to remain at the top of the list for the next eight years, followed by India, the United States, and Indonesia.

This decade, Vietnam, along with Bangladesh and India, is predicted to have the highest increase in

(2021-2030). The country's (those earning $50-110 per day) is expected to grow by 17% per year from now until 2030.
