Approximately 12 hours after its self-imposed shutdown, TikTok has resumed services for many users in the United States, following President-elect Donald Trump's initiative to save the application. In a message to users, TikTok announced, "Thanks to President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S." This devlopment comes after TikTok had proactively ceased its operations, rendering the platform inaccessible to U.S. users starting January 19. Alongside TikTok, other ByteDance-owned applications, such as Lemon8 and CapCut, were also removed from the App Store and Google Play. President-elect Trump indicated plans to issue an executive order after his inauguration to delay the enforcement of the law mandating TikTok's divestiture or ban. Subsequently, many users reported regaining access to both the TikTok app and its website.
