On March 24, the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Authority imposed a fine of 125 million VND on Chị Em Rọt Corporation (CER) for violations related to their Kera vegetable candy. The company was found guilty of producing and distributing products with labeling discrepancies and nutritional content that did not align with their self-declared standards. The violations included the presence of sorbitol in the product without proper declaration on the label. Consequently, CER is mandated to recall the affected products, correct the labeling to meet regulatory standards, and submit the improperly gained profits from the sale of these products. Additionally, they must withdraw their product self-declaration and either destroy or repurpose the non-compliant goods. Previously, Kera vegetable candy was promoted by public figures such as Miss Thùy Tiên and Quang Linh Vlogs, with claims that "one candy equals one plate of vegetables." However, testing revealed that the actual vegetable content was significantly lower than advertised, leading to public outcry over misleading information.
