The Israeli military has declared that its fighter jets carried out an airstrike on the largest Jabalia

in the Gaza Strip, targeting and eliminating a key leader of the armed Palestinian group, Hamas. This action follows in the Gaza Strip, spanning at least four days. These military operations were in response to the recent surprise attack by Hamas on Israeli territory on October 7th, which resulted in over 1,400 casualties and the capture of more than 200 hostages.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on October 31st that their airstrike on the Jabalia refugee camp was successful in eliminating the leader of the Palestinian armed group, Ibrahim Biari, who played a pivotal role in planning and executing the October 7th cross-border attack on Israel from the northeastern part of the Gaza Strip. According to Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, spokesperson for the IDF, this operation was significant due to Biari's involvement in these activities.

Moreover, reports indicate that dozens of Hamas militants in the same underground tunnel complex as Biari were killed when

collapsed during the attack. The unintended casualties and injuries among non-combatants are also under scrutiny by the IDF. Palestinian health officials have reported at least 50 fatalities and 150 injuries resulting from the incident. However, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem has denied the presence of any high-ranking Hamas officials in the area and condemned the IDF's claims as . Hamas estimates a much higher number of casualties in Jabalia, a refuge for displaced families since conflicts with Israel dating back to 1948.
