A concerning incident unfolded in Rạch Giá as more than 80 elementary school students fell victim to food poisoning after consuming

. The culprit was identified as the catering service Cát Tường, responsible for supplying meals to several schools in the area.

On November 27, Mr. Chung Tấn Thịnh, the deputy director of the Kiên Giang Department of Health, revealed that over 80 students from Mạc Đĩnh Chi Elementary School, Lê Văn Tám Elementary School, and Trần Văn Ơn Elementary School in Rạch Giá experienced food poisoning symptoms. This unfortunate incident was linked to the consumption of minced pork from the catering service Cát Tường, located in Vĩnh Lợi ward. The results of the authorities' inspection revealed that the minced pork dish exceeded

such as E. coli and Bacillus cereus. The incident occurred on November 15 when the affected students had their lunch consisting of sour soup, minced pork, fresh noodles with vegetables, and more. Subsequently, they exhibited symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea, leading to their urgent transfer to the Kiên Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for emergency treatment.
