Over 300 Apartments in Ho Chi Minh City Develop Wall Cracks After Tremors

On March 28, a strong earthquake exceeding 7.0 magnitude struck Myanmar, causing

felt in Ho Chi Minh City. The shaking lasted nearly 20 seconds and was noticeable in various across districts 1, 7, and 8.​

Following the tremors, more than 300 apartments in the Diamond Riverside

, located in Ward 16, District 8, reported wall and floor damage. Residents expressed concerns about the structural integrity of their homes and are awaiting from building management.​

The Diamond Riverside complex comprises four 29-story blocks with nearly 1,700 apartments, completed in 2020. The building management, in coordination with local authorities, is inspecting the damage and has advised residents to
