Challenges in Introducing Chinese-Made Aircraft into Vietnam's Airspace

Vietnam's aviation authorities are currently evaluating Vietjet Air's proposal to

two Chinese-manufactured aircraft from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac). The Ministry of Transport has directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to review and domestic regulations to this collaboration, ensuring with both national laws and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

A significant challenge for Comac is that its aircraft have not yet received certification from the

(FAA) or the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This lack of certification may limit the operational scope of these aircraft, especially in international airspace by FAA and EASA regulations.
