On December 19, DC released the first trailer for Superman: Legacy, showcasing David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The 2-minute, 19-second video includes scenes of various characters gazing up at the sky, teasing the iconic superhero's return.

Superman: Legacy is written and directed by James Gunn. According to Gunn, the film will focus on Superman’s life as Clark Kent, highlighting his work as a journalist at The Daily Planet.

After

that lasted eight months, David Corenswet was confirmed in June 2023 to play the new Superman in the DC Universe (DCU). Corenswet, standing at 1.93 meters with a muscular build, is set to take on the mantle of the beloved superhero.

Superman: Legacy is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
