Lunar eclipse visible in Vietnam this week

On Friday night, people across Vietnam can witness

, as will be visible throughout the entire country. According to Time and Date, a global website for time and time zones, sky gazers in Eastern and Central Africa, Oceania, and Asia, the world's most populated areas, will be able to witness the eclipse.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the penumbral lunar eclipse will begin at 22:14 on Friday and reach its maximum at 0:22 the next day, before ending at 2:31 on Saturday. During a penumbral eclipse, the moon moves into the lighter outer region of the earth's shadow, known as the penumbra, causing the moon to receive less light from the sun, and thus appear dimmer.
