Hanoi University of Science and Technology Aims for Asia’s Top 100

Deputy Prime Minister Lê Thành Long has approved a strategic plan to develop Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) into a

in Asia. The goal is to rank among the top 100 universities in Asia by 2045.

By 2030, HUST aims for 85% of

to hold , with 30% being professors or . It also plans to recruit 10% of faculty from international institutions, offer 25% of programs in English, and graduate at least 8,000 students annually in key fields.

HUST’s research goals include each faculty member publishing 1.6 papers per year in

, securing 25-30 annually, and commercializing six research-based products. The university also seeks to establish an innovation hub and support start-ups with a funding target of over $10 million.

To achieve these targets, HUST will expand infrastructure with a second campus in Hưng Yên and develop an Innovation Center, focusing on
