Travelers Must Complete Online Declaration Before Entering Thailand

Starting May 1, 2024, all travelers must submit an online arrival

before entering Thailand. This regulation, introduced by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), applies to all modes of entry—air, land, and sea.

The new system, known as the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), is designed to enhance border security and

the immigration process. Travelers must fill out the form at tdac.immigration.go.th before departure. Required information includes personal details, passport number, flight , and accommodation in Thailand. Upon completion, a confirmation email will be sent, which must be presented to immigration officers upon arrival.

Authorities emphasize that failure to complete this procedure may result in denied entry. The TDAC replaces traditional paper-based forms,

Thailand’s broader digital transformation strategy. Given that Vietnam is a major source of tourists for Thailand—with over one million visitors in early 2024—this measure is expected to impact a significant number of travelers.
