On the morning of September 16,
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as of 10 a.m., the tropical depression was located east of the Philippines' Luzon Island. It had maximum winds of 61 km/h, equivalent to levels 6-7 on the Beaufort scale, with gusts reaching level 9. The system was moving westward at a speed of 15 km/h.
By 10 a.m. tomorrow, the depression is expected to enter the East Sea, continuing westward and accelerating to 20 km/h. Maximum winds will strengthen to level 7, with gusts up to level 9. By 10 a.m. on September 18, the tropical depression is projected to develop into a typhoon, approximately 400 km from the Paracel Islands, with maximum winds of level 8 (74 km/h) and gusts reaching level 10.
So far this year, there have been three typhoons in the East Sea.
