8 people from Làng Nủ village safely return after being declared missing

Two families, each with four members, from Làng Nủ village in Phúc Khánh commune, Bảo Yên district, were initially reported missing but have safely returned to report their well-being.

On the morning of September 13th, Hoàng Văn Diệp, the village leader of Làng Nủ, confirmed that both heads of households, Hoàng Văn Tiện, 47, and Hoàng Văn Duân, 39, along with their families, have come back to the village and informed the community that they are safe.

Each family, consisting of a couple and their two children, managed to escape the deadly flash flood that struck at 6 AM on September 10th. They had

at a nearby house belonging to one of their relatives. When a section of the Con Voi mountain, located about 500 meters from the village, unexpectedly collapsed, they fled in panic. Now reunited, they have returned to their village. "Their houses were completely destroyed, but thankfully, they are all safe," said the village leader, explaining that local authorities had previously listed these families as missing during efforts to search for residents among the 37 households buried under the debris.

Additionally, on the previous day, 115 residents of Kho Vàng village, located in Cốc Lầu commune, Bắc Hà district, who were also thought to be missing, were found on a nearby mountain. These villagers had recognized the signs of

on September 9th and warned each other to flee to a mountain located about one kilometer away. By nightfall, heavy rains began, and landslides buried seven homes in their village.
