Vietnamese-German singer finishes third at Eurovision Germany

Hieu fought in the final against seven other contenders on Saturday night (local time) in Germany. He and a dance team performed "Dare To Be Different,"

. Hieu wowed the audience with his singing performance, as well as his ao dai and conical hat. Hieu finished third overall with 71 points. The band Lord of the Lost won with "Blood and Glitter" which received 189 points. The band will represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest continental event, which will be held in the United Kingdom in May.

Hieu was the competition's lone Asian artist. As the top eight competitors were unveiled, he drew media and public interest, appearing on Vogue Germany.
