China's Advanced Humanoid Robot Ready for Real-World Applications

Pudu Robotics, a Chinese company, has unveiled the Pudu D9, a

standing 170 cm tall and weighing 65 kg, comparable to an average human. This robot combines the wheeled mobility of the Pudu D7 with the of the Pudu DH11. The company plans to commercialize the Pudu D9 soon.

The Pudu D9 features a

capable of moving at speeds up to 2 meters per second (7.2 km/h), slightly faster than typical human walking speed. It can navigate various terrains, including stairs, slopes, and like sand and gravel. Equipped with algorithms, the robot maintains smooth and quiet movement. Its advanced creates real-time 3D of its surroundings, enabling precise navigation and route planning.

The robot's two arms, each with seven degrees of freedom, can handle loads up to 20 kg, making it suitable for diverse environments such as households, supermarkets, and factories. Pudu Robotics, established in Shenzhen in 2016, initially focused on developing food delivery robots. Their robots are now utilized across various industries, including dining, retail, hospitality, healthcare, entertainment, education, and manufacturing, with over 80,000 units operating in 60 countries. The company holds more than a thousand patents, encompassing key robotic technologies.
