Famous KOLs in Ho Chi Minh City pay significant taxes

The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department recently announced that many of the 35 celebrities and public figures it reviewed have paid over 1 billion VND in taxes. Notably, one individual paid 4.7 billion VND, while a popular streamer contributed 1.9 billion VND.

One standout case involved a business in District 1, which voluntarily declared its income from digital services and paid a total of 11.5 billion VND, which included taxes, penalties for administrative violations, and late payment fees. Other businesses have also voluntarily paid more than 1 billion VND in taxes over the past year.

In 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department set up a specialized team to monitor and collect taxes from individuals engaged in content creation and digital platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook. This group includes YouTubers, TikTokers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), key opinion consumers (KOCs), and those selling products via livestreams.
