On December 17, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Threads has surpassed 300 million monthly active users and over 100 million daily active users.
Zuckerberg shared the milestone on social media, stating, "Threads continues to show strong growth, with more than 300 million monthly active users and over 100 million daily active users." This marks the first time Meta has disclosed
Threads is currently the most downloaded app on the App Store, overtaking both ChatGPT and TikTok.
The platform has been experiencing rapid growth since its launch. Threads hit 100 million users by October 2023, then doubled to 200 million in just 10 months, and has now reached 300 million users in less than half a year. According to Social Media Today, at this pace, Threads could soon catch up with, or even surpass, Elon Musk's social network X (formerly Twitter), which was founded in 2006 and currently has 570 million monthly active users.
