Overall, what stands out from the first table is that people with qualifications earned much higher salaries than those without

. Interestingly, people had a tendency to earn more as they got older, and the increased income only ceased when they reached the age of 52 for graduates and 42 for non-graduates.

Graduates earned £54,000 on average, far outstripping their non-graduate

who only received an average of £29,000. Looking at the age groups in more detail, at 22 years old, people with qualifications earned almost £10,000 more than non-graduates, £24,000 compared to £14,300. 32-year-old workers with degrees made £8,200 more than they did 10 years ago. This number grew even further to hit a high of £34,380, the highest salary graduates could earn at the age of 52, before falling slightly back to £29,900 when they were 62 years old.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old non-graduates only earned £4,800 more than when they were 22 years old. However, as they became older, their salary remained relatively the same at £19,100 for the 42-year-old bracket, and the figure thereafter underwent a moderate decline to £15,280 when they reached 62.
