1. Sử dụng đa dạng các câu so sánh
Ví dụ:

- Conversely, Spanish registered an increase in popularity, as it was studied by 10% of students in 2007, doubling its initial figure in 1984.
-> Phân tích: từ nối Conversely (ngược lại) để so sánh xu hướng trái ngược với câu trước; tiếp theo, double (gấp đôi) để so sánh số liệu năm 1984 và 2007.
2. Sử dụng cách diễn đạt "respectively" để liệt kê theo thứ tự tương ứng: trong trường hợp này là tỉ lệ học ngoại ngữ của nam và nữ.
Ví dụ: ...as the figures for male and female students dropped moderately to 40% and 25% respectively in 2007.
